Zoe Kravitz Opens Up About Eating Disorder & Being Intimidated By Her Mother Lisa Bonet’s Beauty.

Zoe Kravitz is on her way to becoming Hollywood’s next “it” girl. With several films under her belt, the rising star is following in the footsteps of her famous mother and father Lisa Bonet and Lenny Kravitz.
Zoe, like plenty of other children born into the spotlight, suffered from an eating disorder and opened up about about her struggles with body image in the latest issue of Complex magazine.
“I had a really hard time when I was 16, 17, 18. I started with the eating disorder in high school…Just [a hard time] loving myself….I think it was part of being a woman, and being surrounded by [fame]. I don’t think it was about the fame, but I think it was definitely about being around that world, seeing that world. I felt pressured,” she admitted.
She also revealed her struggles with feeling normal.
“When I was younger. I really wanted to prove to people I was a normal human being, that I was cool, chill. When kids were mean, the first thing they’d say is, ‘She thinks she’s so fucking cool because her dad is famous’. I just wanted to fit in.”
In an 2014 interview, Zoe revealed she used to eat clay to lose weight. “I ended up drinking clay because it cleans out your body and fills you up. I was eating like a Mason jar of pureed vegetables a day and running.”
While Zoe is a beautiful girl herself, she says her mother’s beauty added to her insecurities.
“It’s either: you’re conceited, or insecure, as opposed to just loving yourself…My mother’s a… …beautiful woman, and I think, in some way, I felt intimidated by that sometimes. My dad dated a lot of supermodels.”
Zoe is also promoting her new film “Mad Max: Fury Road” starring Charlize Theron and Tom Hardy.

‘Empire’ Star Grace Gealey Never Felt Light-Skinned Until She Moved To The United States.

Grace Gealey (Anika)
Grace Gealey was surprised to learn how divided Black people in the United States are when it comes to complexion.
The Empire star, who originally hails from the Cayman Islands, shared her thoughts on colorism, admitting that she felt a bit of culture shock when she moved to the United States. In particular, when she saw how women were pitted against one another based on skin tone.
“For me personally, it’s the whole light-skinned/dark-skinned dynamic [for women of color],” she told Details. “I mean, there’s competition among women everywhere you go. But back home we understand that you can look like a variety of things and still be from the same culture.”
By comparison, Gealey said that she can’t recall ever being singled out or placed on a pedestal based on the fact that she has a lighter complexion. She felt the community she grew up in was far more inclusive in its definition of Blackness because it never made any differentiation between shades of brown.

Robin and Andrea McBride are two long-lost sisters who are changing the game of the wine industry. They recently launched Truvée Wines, an affordable luxury wine company, which was inspired by their sisterhood in February 2015 from the Central Coast of California. These two girls share a father, but were raised by different mothers. They didn’t know one another for 16 year, but they both grew up in emerging wine regions (Monterey, California, and Marlborough, New Zealand) and both shared a love and appreciation for winemaking. How uncanny!?
