Pantone just unveiled two new shades as their official Color of The Year: Rose Quartz, a dusky shade of pink, and Serenity, a slightly intensified baby blue. Pantone, known as the color experts in the world of fashion, scours trends across couture runways to forecast the dominant colors for the year ahead.
According to Pantone, the coming wave of pale pinks and blues signifies a world still fiercely forging gender equality: “This more unilateral approach to color is coinciding with societal movements toward gender equality and fluidity, the consumers’ increased comfort with using color as a form of expression which includes a generation that has less concern about being typecast or judged.” Get prepared to get pretty in a world of pastels for 2016.
