Isa Arfen Fall 2014.

For Isa Arfen’s Fall 2014 colletion, designer Serafina Sama was inspired by style icon Tina Chow — influenced by her polished fashion sense that effortlessly blended street and quirk. The palette was mostly muted with a few pops of pink, fiery red, turquoise, and teal, though the silhouettes were much more varied: classic turtlenecks, cropped wide-leg trousers, a dash of fur, and even a cutout here and there.

There was a sense of dishevelment juxtaposed with a slight hint of sultriness with dresses that fell languidly off the shoulders, one-shoulder tops cinched at the waists by brown suede and black leather obi belts, and button-front cardigans slumping to the waistline.

 
The collection’s simpler designs will surely be big retail hits including pleated pants in Fall-perfect grey, double-breasted menswear inspired coats, a calf-length draped number with torso-high side slits that could double as both a dress and top, and a button-accented cropped wrap top that will surely catch the eyes of those in the young and toned fashion set.

 
As is requisite for the season, outerwear was standout from a long colorblock shearling coat to a fuzzy beige wrap design that was very reminiscent of the Max Mara number we’ve seen Kim Kardashian sporting so many times in the past few months.

 
There’s no reason to shelve your brights come autumn, thus the way Sama played with vibrant hues was refreshing. A hot pink suit accented with purple metallic boots (the latter which read like a 70′s costume unfortunately) and a red coat tied at the waist to accentuate the female form: these will serve as the necessary pops of color your wardrobe will need once the temperatures chill and the palette becomes neutral-dominant.

 
We’ve seen stylish ladies including Solange Knowles, Tracee Ellis Ross, and LaLa Anthony opt for the brand’s designs in the past year and I think a few pieces here will tickle their fancy. An off-the-shoulder embellished dress will work for Ms. Knowles if tailored for a more snug fit and cut off just below the knee, while the collection’s array of crop tops will work on the fit abs of Ross and Anthony.
