The Big Apple is a constant source of inspiration for Donna Karan’s DKNY label and she certainly channeled it for the brand’s Fall 2014 collection, casting real-life New Yorkers on the runway including “It” girl Hannah Bronfman and rapper Angel Haze. The “model” selection was just as youthful and urban as the designs ranging from wearable parka jackets to battle the city’s inclement weather to pieces of a dressier persuasion that spoke to NYC’s nightlife.

Functionality was effortlessly blended with quirk from the onset with fur-collar quilted nylon coats paired with tinsel fringe numbers, puffers boasting shaggy fur sleeves, and metallic insets giving a shiny rise to utilitarian designs. Leather ankle boots, Yankee fitted caps, and high-top platform sneakers served as accoutrements.
