Jeremy Scott Fall 2014.
Jeremy Scott is a designer well-versed in athletic-inspired wares: his ongoing collaboration with Adidas is a true testament to that. He dived head-first into sporty chic attire for his Fall 2014 collection running over with tube sock-inspired knitwear, furry dresses emblazoned with varsity numbers, leather designs mimicking basketballs, and so much more.
Check out more below:
Crop tops, biking shorts, long johns, and crewneck toppers gave a wearable nod to the age-old tube sock, while lace-up corset detailing on bustiers and high-waist skirts hinted at catchers’ mitts. Footwear from Scott’s upcoming Adidas Originals collection adorned the models’ feet in lace-up, peep-toe heeled sandals and sneakers and cap-toe booties giving the appearance of socks.
We all know Mr. Scott is not shy about showing skin and some looks bared it all with lace-up bodysuits, bandeaus, bikini bottoms, tube skirts, and bralettes. Luckily, the footwear provided slight leg coverage as some styles sprawled up to the calf, knee, and thigh: faux shin and knee guards if you will. An athletic-inspired offering would be incomplete without mesh and Scott showed the material in oversized baseball jerseys. Not to be forgotten was leather and PVC, used quite a bit for the gents on jackets (with no shirts layered underneath of course) and biker-influenced pants.
There were patterns aplenty with scoreboard prints, rugby stripes, bandaids, and monstrous Madball motifs.
So what will the globe’s “It” girls and throng of J. Scott fans be wearing from this collection? I can definitely see Rihanna in a white off-the-shoulder blue stripe mini dress, while a white fur blazer was practically made for Rita Ora.
