Roberto Cavalli’s younger, contemporary line, Just Cavalli, bowed with a bang yesterday in Milan, with all the bold patterns of saucy insouciance for which the brand is known. This season’s starting off point stood firmly in baroque inspirations, infused with the unexpected: rainbow colors, fringes, fur, metallics, and grommets.

Statues and Romanesque busts decorated shifts and shirts, jazzed up by bright tones, sometimes anchored by earthy colored florals.

A zesty rocker vibe predominated the rest of the showing. How else to describe gold leather fringed pants and curved shoulder metallic jackets with grommeted belts and sleeves?

And of course no Cavalli show would be complete without a little animal print. The feral patterns were airbrushed with solid painterly strokes, accessorized by fur clutches and fringed boots.

And for the simple girl, there were short cocktails with marbleized patterns, along with a handful of LBDS.

I could certainly see the gold fringed pants as part of a performance; I’d personally love a cute mini dress of two. This one has my name on it…!
