Who doesn’t love a surprise release?!
While Kanye West’s partnership with Nike may have ended on a sour note, he was able to design one last shoe for the athletic brand. The monochrome ‘Red October’ Air Yeezy sneakers were set to be the final offering from the rapper, though no official release date was ever announced.
On Sunday around 1 p.m. Nike sent out a tweet alerting their followers that the $245 kicks were available for purchase. If you weren’t quick with your fingers, you missed your opportunity to snag a pair, as they were completely sold out within 10 minutes. Not too long after, a UK buyer posted his Red Octobers on eBay for a staggering £10 million, roughly $16.39 million. Yep, you read that correctly.
While I highly doubt anyone in their right mind would actually purchase a pair of sneakers for that insane price, I’m sure the news is flattering to the mighty Yeezus to some degree.
