Rachel Roy Fall 2014.

Rachel Roy has officially been in business for a decade, which is no small feat for a designer after the economic flux of the past six years. For her Fall 2014 collection, she aimed to create looks that embodied the desires and needs of the modern-day stylish woman, while maintaining her signature sense of cool and ease. She succeeded with bold ensembles that were heavy in print and texture.
Check out more of the collection below:

Slits were on high, both literally and figuratively, showing sultry peeks of skin on printed dresses, lace-inset skirts, and mixed print numbers that gave entirely new meaning to the phrase “conversation piece”.

Fur was a focus on the collar of a navy wool moto-inspired jacket, a luscious black scarf sure to keep its wearer’s neck warm for Fall, and a purple coat completely covered in the cozy texture that was given edge with brown leather accents.

There’s no denying that separates ran the show here. Mrs. Roy always designs for the working woman, which has undoubtedly contributed to her success. The lineup’s cool, yet luxe take on classics including the peacoat, pencil skirt (with bold-hued crackled leather and lace for good measure), sheath dress (with a comfy turtleneck layered underneath), and all things tweed were standout and impossible to resist.

Rachel really is the best brand ambassador for her line, thus I’d love to see her as well as Gabrielle Union in the collection’s red carpet-ready attire. A lace inset number with a thigh-baring slit will turn heads at a movie premiere or awards show, while a floor-length floral printed number speaks to the season’s balmy temperatures before that first autumnal chill sets in.
