Pass The Popcorn: Mike Epps Joins BET’s ‘Being Mary Jane’ + Boris Kodjoe Lands Role On ABC’s ‘The Club’.

Mike Epps has a lot to celebrate these days. The comedian and actor has booked two major gigs!
According to Deadline, Epps will join Gabrille Union in the second season of BET’s “Being Mary Jane.” He will play a family man named Chris Warren, a husband and father in a great marriage who Mary Jane beings to envy.


Epps will also star in LeBron Jame’s upcoming scripted comedy series “Survivor’s Remorse.” According to reports, the show is set in the world of professional basketball and “follows Cam Calloway (Jessie T. Usher), a basketball phenom in his early 20s who is thrust into the limelight after signing a multimillion-dollar contract with a pro team. Cam, along with his cousin and confidant Reggie Vaughn (RonReaco Lee), move to Georgia to start Cam’s journey to success.” Epps will play Cam’s uncle Julius, who loves the perks of success but encourages his family to stay humble and wise.
In related TV news, Boris Kodjoe has joined ABC’s 13-episode drama series “The Club.” The Hollywood Reporter describes the show as “an upstairs-downstairs soap centered on a private country club.” Kodjoe, a “The Real Husbands of Hollywood” and “Undercovers” alum, will star as Deacon Harris, a former Hall of Fame football player who is persuaded to join the elite society.

ABC picked up “The Club” straight to series. A premiere date has yet to be released.
