Fashion Scoop: Rihanna To Release ‘Unfiltered’ Documentary, Armanda Cabral Footwear Coming Soon To Bloomingdales, Gucci To Host Cruise Show In New York.
- Get ready world, Rihanna is coming to you all unfiltered! What’s
that you say? She already is unfiltered? Oh, well that’s how the
documentary is touting itself. Done in the style of the 1967
documentary on Bob Dylan, Don’t Look Back, the film is supposed to be an “unfiltered look into Rihanna’s life and how she ascended to become a global icon.”
And though we can’t imagine how much more unfiltered she can become,
we’re hoping it’ll also delve into her ascension as a fashion killer. (Elle)
- Secretly, one of my style icons is Iris Apfel. The 93-year-old style
star started off as an interior designer and has made her mark in the
fashion industry with her eclectic sartorial choices. Now, she’s getting
a documentary to celebrate all of that. Set to be released in theaters
next month, Iris is definitely going to be a must-watch! (Vanity Fair)
- You might know male model Armando Cabral but did you know he was a
shoe designer as well? Cabral has made quite a name for himself in men’s
footwear and this week launched his line in Bloomingdale’s at an event
hosted by Bevy Smith. New news to come out of the event? Cabral will
launch women’s shoes in the U.S. next season! (The Daily Front Row)
- Though I still have yet to get my grubby paws on Emily Weiss’s
beauty line Glossier, I’m voracious about information surrounding it.
And though there have been two phases already released, that first
phase of the daily essentials with the Balmdotcom that I hear is
sublime, and a second phase with masks, apparently Weiss already has the
third phase ready for us. No, we don’t know the release date but
sunscreen is set to be a part! Perfect for spring, no? (New York Times)
- We have New York, London, Paris, Milan for the major fashion weeks
during the main seasons. But increasingly, between those periods we take
one off trips for pre-collections and special projects all around the
world. Well the latest brand to take their showing on the road is
Gucci, now under the direction of Alessandro Michelle. And though it’s
nowhere particularly new for the international fashion set (right here
in New York) we’re definitely looking forward to it. (Fashionista)
