Beyoncé to Launch Third Fragrance.
Oh, you thought the surprise album was it? Nope, Beyoncé had one more bombshell to drop in 2014.
The singer is releasing her third fragrance, called Rise. While the news was announced this year, the perfume won't hit shelves until February 2014. Which is smart, considering a lot of her fans will be glued to their computer screens obsessing over her 17 new videos for at least the next month or so.
Like most things Beyoncé, this scent is about girl power. Or as Marsha Brooks, vice president of global marketing for fragrances in the Coty Beauty division of Coty Inc. more accurately explains: "The fragrance concept is a about female empowerment and finding the inner strength that makes women so beautiful."
While the perfume—which is said to an "intoxicating, addictive luminous floral"—is meant to capture Beyonce's true self, it also coincidentally describes what her fragrance sales.
According to Women's Wear Daily, she has sold $400 million in fragrances with her first two scents Pulse and Heat. Mind you, this is the same woman whose latest album has sold over a million copies in just five days. “overcoming adversity and rising above it all.” According to WWD, the singer’s collective fragrances are the bestselling lot for a celebrity, so there’s no reason why this offering shouldn’t be a success as well. Beyoncé Rise is less fruity than her other scents, boasting notes of autumn woods, jasmine, and Italian bergamot. If you’re planning to get your hands on this one, $19.99 will get you 1-oz. version, $39 a 1.7-oz. bottle, for $49 you can get 3.4-oz. version. The body lotion goes for $24 and $59, while the shower gel will set you back $22
They don't call her Queen B for nothing!
