One of the most endearing talents of Givenchy’s Riccardo Tisci is his versatility. He can craft something for the street kids who look up to his brand, then flip the script and offer unadulterated sophistication, all the while exuding creativity with prints and cuts. For Spring 2013, it was all about ruffles, and stark black, white, and blue. He turned it up for Fall 2013 with Bambis, flames, and all the barking dogs the streets could handle. Spring 2014 was sudbued with lithe, figure hugging materials, along with t-shirt ready tribal prints. So we get quiet fire with Fall 2014.

His offering married femininity and masculinity with knee length chiffon dresses sharing the carpeted runway with knee length jackets worn over high waisted trousers.
Tisci looked resolutely to nature with this collection, but dipped his toe into animal print. Burnt orange peacock feathers, fur trimmed leopard, and red infused snake prints decorated cropped tops, dresses, and jackets.
Other natural elements came into play with floral tops, marbled dresses, and prints mimicking the veins of butterfly wings.
Material skewed ethereal with wind catching silk, lace, and chiffon.
Fall is all about outerwear, and for Givenchy, leather is luxe. Cropped chocolate brown jackets with fur collars topped pleated skirts and strappy sandals.
Of course fur had a moment with blush pink cropped coats and fur trimmed wool numbers in pale rose.
I’m a Givenchy fan and can always find something to love. A wind catching dress will be mine come Fall 2014. I’m sure we’ll see Kim, Rihanna, or even North West rocking something from the collection in a week or so.
