On the 15th of February 2014, Oloruntoba Oluwadamilola Falode, a 19 year old Nigerian student based in Dubai tragically passed away.
Toba, popularly known by friends as “Tyler Hendrix Fray” is the only son of AIT Sports broadcaster and Confederation of African Football (CAF) executive, Aisha Falode.
At the time of his untimely death, there were conflicting media reports on the true cause of his death. It has been a very difficult time for the Falode family and his mother is now speaking out for the first time. She granted an interview to Sahara TV which you can watch below.

Excerpts
The official cause of death was reportedly “A fall from a great height and the impact from the fall”
This was based on the account of his supposed girlfriend/roommate who was supposedly with Toba on the day of his death, according to his girlfriend, “he sat on the railing of the balcony and was swinging back and forth.” She says she warned him of the danger of this action and he did not listen. His girlfriend later went back inside the apartment, leaving him alone on the balcony and by the time she went back outside, he had fallen.
Based on this account and the account of other roommates, the case was closed without an extensive investigation.
So far, Aisha has not been able to get access the official records. She believes there is more to the story. She disputes her son being alone at the time of his death. She also states that her son and his roommate who was also in the apartment at the time of the incident is a potential suspect. This is based on a previous altercation and also accounts of what happened on the night of her son’s death. Aisha says her son tried to settle a dispute between 2 of his roommates including his supposed girlfriend and they all went into a room together. When the other 2 roommates emerged (without Toba), they were distressed and the individual who Aisha suspects, had blood on his clothes and shoes in addition he had blood on his knuckles plus he made comments about doing “25 years in jail”. She also adds that her son’s body was found too far away from the building for a fall and it is more likely that he was pushed.
According to Aisha, (to listen, skip to 9:27 in the video) on the night of the incident, these very suspicious circumstances lead her to believe her son was murdered.
Due to the judicial system in Dubai, in order for the case file to be viewed, the Nigerian government needs to intervene.
This is such a tragic case. Toba would have turned 20 on the 15th of May 2014.
