Burberry Prorsum Resort 2015.
With each year, the Burberry juggernaut grows ever more powerful, but Chief Creative and Chief Executive Officer of the iconic British fashion house, Christopher Bailey, has not let its immense force affect design. He has become quite the master of effortlessly blending new and innovative technology with bits and pieces of British culture, present and past. For the Resort 2015 collection for the Prorsum line, he found inspiration in poetry and fiction from the 20th century. The influence appeared on toppers, pencil skirts, bowling bags, and the brand’s iconic trench, which were all covered in quirky text including “Rain or Shine” and “Explore and Adventure”.
Femininity and romance were at play with the assortment’s dip-dye color palette and wealth of lace: quite prettily done on a classic, double-breasted belted trench, sultry yet polished button-front blouses, and easy dresses with sheer insets.
A nod to safari wear was served up with large cargo pockets on rain-ready trench coats and cargo shirts tucked into printed high-waist pencil skirts for office-appropriate looks.
