Get Ready…Get Set…Run!

Soon it will be the start of a new year and a new quarter. You may be feeling a bit anxious or a little ambiguous about the direction of your 2017.
But now is the time to organize your thoughts and aspirations for the months to come so you can put those ambitions into an action plan. This is the perfect time to reflect, rejuvenate, and reinvent yourself but you must first take the time you need to determine your personal strategy. Once it’s in place, you will have the ability to maximize every opportunity that comes your way during the next year. I want to share a strategy that my husband and I often implement in order to see success materialize in our lives. As the saying goes, “take what you want and leave the rest.” These are simply suggestions:
Get Ready… What is it that you want to accomplish? Where is it that you want to be by December 31, 2017? What obstacles exist between you and the fruition of your goals? Which of these obstacles do you actually have the power to change? Write all of this down. Then ask yourself, “Who are some of the people that I admire that are already succeeding in these areas?” If they are local, can you speak with them or possibly be mentored by them? If they are a celebrity or public figure, chances are their story, philosophy, and/or keys to success exist somewhere, either through interviews, books, or audio recordings. This is an easy and effective way to engage in immediate “remote mentoring.” The most important aspect of this step is gaining the knowledge, wisdom, and insight you need to go after what you desire to achieve.
Get Set… Once you’ve got your goals down on paper, and you’ve taken note of what others who have succeeded did to gain a favorable outcome, devise a plan. Make the plan simple yet precise. Write that plan down. Consider managing steps towards achieving it in the form of a daily or weekly to-do list with each separate action as its own line. This way, once you’ve completed even the most elementary of actions, you can cross it off. The motion of crossing or checking off items on a to-do list gives you a feeling of accomplishment, and this projects that same positive energy into the universe. You may also decide to change your environment and daily or weekly routine to position yourself favorably to receive what you truly desire. Behave in a manner that implies that the manifestation of what you’ve set your heart on is inevitable. Allow your focus to simply be on taking the necessary steps to prepare for its arrival. With that in mind, stay open to revising your plan throughout the year as new knowledge, wisdom, and insights arise. Then…
Run! Go for it! Visualize yourself succeeding at it daily. Create a vision board (a digital one, if possible, serving as the ideal screen saver on all of your electronic devices) to stimulate your faith. Document your development in a journal. Be sure to incorporate the three R’s I mentioned earlier: Reflection, rejuvenation, and reinvention. Evaluate your personal progress every quarter and, again, readjust where necessary. Most importantly, expect to win and NEVER GIVE UP!
