Morris Chestnut Named ABFF’s 2014 Celebrity Ambassador.
Morris Chestnut is definitely having a breakout year. He’s the star of the highly-anticipated The Best Man sequel, and according to reports, he’s the new celebrity ambassador for the American Black Film Festival!
“It’s an honor and privilege to be the ambassador of the ABFF, taking place this year in New York—a city that has inspired and cultivated so much great talent in all areas of film,” Chestnut said.
The four-day event, which producer Jeff Friday stared in 1997, is all about showcasing quality Black films.
“Morris Chestnut is a beloved and charismatic actor,” Friday said. “The role of the ABFF ambassador is to broaden public awareness of the festival as well as its mission, and you are about to see Morris everywhere with this weeks release of The Best Man Holiday — a must see!”
Next year’s festival will be hosted by Spike Lee’s wife Tonya Lewis Lee. “I deeply appreciate both Morris and Tonya’s commitment to advance opportunities for Black artists in our industry,” Friday added.
