Teddy Boys and Girls are heavily influencing fashion for Fall 2014: Zimmermann pull inspiration from the 50′s movement, as do Rag & Bone for their latest collection. The influence is palpable in high-waist, drainpipe trousers, the slicked back “Boston”-inspired hairstyles on the models, the array of pencil skirts, and so much more.

Marcus Wainwright and David Neville commit to warmth and functionality right out of the gate with a shearling vest paired with a brown loose-fitting skirt and knee-high slouchy boots in the same deep shade. That coffee-colored hue continues on boxy cropped jackets, paint-splattered pencil skirts, the aforementioned drainpipe trousers, and two-tone silk dresses: injecting an earthy, utilitarian vibe to the collection.

“However living better now/Coogi sweater now”…The Notorious B.I.G.’s lyrics reign true as the brand collaborates with famed knitwear brand Coogi on an array of sweater styles from cropped cardigans to pencil skirts. The pieces read chalet chic when accompanied by high-waist leggings and knee-high lace-up boots. Wainwright and Neville also create their own slew of fairisle knits, with bags in the cold-weather print making a poignant statement.

A classic check pattern is among the lineup’s prints on cozy pencil skirts, wearable jackets, must-have hobo bags, and a zip-front hoodie.

In case you were wondering whether or not leather wares have finally come to the end of their run, well…they have not. The brand uses the edgy texture on an orange two-tone dress, drawstring ankle boots in the same bright shade, jackets cut short at the hem channeling classic American sportswear, and bowling shirts showcasing the names of the models wearing them. I’m not sure about the cost of personalizing designs like the latter, but those pieces might prove to be some of the brand’s retail hits should the service be available.
