Bally Fall 2015.

Bally is a brand known for simplicity and luxury, thus the myriad of bold hues in the iconic fashion house’s Fall 2015 collection was both shocking and exciting. Its latest Creative Director, Pablo Coppola, has been at the creative helm for a little over a year now and he is keen on staying true to the line’s signatures, while injecting some fun and modernity in for good measure.

Though the brand’s classic designs have been their trademark for their century and a half-long history, the more audacious and intrepid pieces are what the fashion house’s fans have been scooping up in stores. Coppola catered to their desires with a green leather tie-waist trench with contrast lapels, purple totes, a yellow bomber with a cozy fur collar, matching slingback heeled loafers, and printed trunks for jetsetters.

As is requisite for the season, fur had a moment in a cropped brown mink coat falling languidly over a menswear-inspired camel hued suit, a lavender waist belt that was one of the collection’s least functional designs and surely not for the faint of heart, and neckwarmers that made quite the impression when paired with structured looks.

Coppola was inspired by Margot Tenenbaum and the Wes Anderson character’s style was captured with functional cropped pleated trousers, whimsical mini shoulder bags, Mod-inspired trenches, and dainty ankle boots. A high-waist waxed skirt was a modern spin on her sartorial proclivities, while a chocolate roomy sheath was given a bit of current edge with two-tone leather over-the-knee boots — fun ways to channel one of cinema’s unforgettable women while not at all treading into costume territory.
