Can't a girl eat fried chicken in peace?!
When you're Khloé Kardashian or Kylie Jenner, no: Your Popeyes craving is controversial.
It all started Thursday afternoon following the NBCUniversal Cable Upfront at New York's Javits Center, when the Keeping Up With the Kardashians stars boarded a private jet (!) with a super-size bag of Popeyes in tow. Naturally, Kylie Instagrammed a photo, captioning it simply, "that's just how we do it."
Once the ladies were inside the private plane, they changed into comfier clothes and got ready to chow down. Momager Kris Jenner, makeup artist Joyce Bonelli and hairstylist Jen Atkin joined in, too, and the fivesome took flight celebrating "Popeyes and PJs!!!!!!"

It seemed innocent enough, but it didn't take long before Khloé and Kylie partaking in Popeyes made headlines—and not in a good way. Khloé responded to the criticism on Twitter. "Seeing some of the stories/comments in regards to my Instagram," she wrote. "How is any one 'trying to be black' because they are eating food?"
"I wasn't aware that food was limited to a certain skin color... I thought food was not specific to skin color but to humans in general," she continued. "'To break bread together,' a phrase as old as the Bible, captures the power of a meal to forge relationships, bury anger, provoke laughter."
She opened up a dialogue about the topic with a few fans, agreeing that those hurling racial allegations at her over something so silly were "incredibly judgmental."

There were some people, however, that thought Kardashians eating Popeyes was a rather clever way to allude to the controversy cooked up by Kylie's recent Snapchat video. In the super-short clip, she can be seen noshing on a biscuit and saying what was misheard as "I'm high as f--k."
This one picked up steam fast, but Kylie fortunately set the record straight, tweeting, "I did a snapchat saying my chicken was 'good as f--k' eating Popeyes for the 1st time and apparently people think I said high as f--k...I DID NOT say that."
Again, can't a girl just eat some fried chicken in peace?!
