The 2015 Met Gala Instagram Cuteness

Despite rumors that La Wintour wouldn’t allow smart phones inside the Gala, social media was set aflame with bathroom selfies, close ups, and performance shots from inside the festivities.  While some lived up to the theme China: Through The Looking Glass, others may have fallen flat.  But one thing’s for certain.  It looks like all who attended had the time of their lives. Here’s a peek into what the red carpet didn’t show.

Rihanna Met Gala
First up is the Princess of China herself, Rihanna, who served the runway down during a performance at last night’s affair.  The patterned Maison Martin Margiela corset, Cornelia James red leather gloves and silk pants sealed the deal for me.  And I love how she gave her all with this year’s theme.  PS: Olivier, we see you!
Riccardo Tisci and Beyonce Met Gala
Another red carpet stunner for most was Queen Bey, who sidled next to her gown’s creator, Riccardo Tisci for Givenchy.  Did she find that Death Becomes Her potion too?  Her skin: flawless.  Makeup: flawless.  She looks the same as she did ten years ago!  While I loved her hair and her dress, I thought both would’ve been better suited for a different occasion.  Like last year, her dress didn’t really embody the theme, but…I got a bit of life.  I won’t lie.
Kim Kardashian and Jennifer Lopez Met Gala
Kim Kardashian-West walked arm-in-arm through the exhibit with her idol, Jennifer Lopez.  Kim’s custom Roberto Cavalli gown and J. Lo’s custom Versace were the sheer stunners of the ball.  Speaking of “sheer”, Kim said her dress was inspired by a Bob Mackie design that Cher wore to the first Met ball.  Well played, Kimmy.  Hubby Kanye West snapped this pic, by the way.  *”Booty” by Jennifer Lopez plays in my head*

Lee Daniels and Naomi Campbell Met Gala
And in other rear view news, film/TV producer Lee Daniels and Naomi Campbell stopped and posed for a swarm of paparazzi.  Slayomi really did it with this feather Burberry number.

The pair grabbed a close up shot with Rihanna, and opted for black and white. Cheekbones for days! Talk about beauty!

Justin Bieber Met Gala
One of my faves last night: Justin Bieber.  I’m surprised his style wasn’t getting as much press as his drama, but I have a feeling that’s going to change.  Here he is getting the final touches on his gilded Balmain blazer that I just have to somehow see in person.  He looked great!
Michael B Jordan Met Gala
Also repping for the guys was actor Michael B. Jordan who just… I … speechless.  Swoonworthy is an absolute understatement as he killed it in a jacquard Dolce & Gabbana Alta Moda tux.  Everything about this look was right.
Katy Perry, Madonna, Lady Gaga Met Gala
Katy Perry, Madonna, and Lady Gaga did a little catching up and ussie taking last night.  Their faces may all be aglow, but we all know who the fashion killer of this trio was last night.  Katy and Madonna… hmm… maybe should’ve saved those Moschino looks for performances.  Lady Gaga served it Balenciaga.  I knew she wouldn’t disappoint.
zoe kravitz lenny kravitz lisa bonet met gala 2015
Speaking of iconic ussies, we have a family moment with Zoe Kravitz, Lenny Kravitz, and Lisa Bonet. Zoe is the perfect combination of her two gorgeous parents, and this picture provides further proof. Hot!
bathroom selfie jourdan dunn alexander wang kendall jenner zoe kravitz met gala 2015
The gang was all in for this bathroom selfie, including Cara Delevingne, Kendall Jenner, and Jourdan Dunn. Not sure how Alexander Wang snuck in there, but he certainly gets a pass.
Rita Ora Met Gala
Rita Ora is smizing like she was in the bottom two last week.  Tyra would be proud!  Aside from that sultry gaze, the singer looked radiant in her after party ensemble.  A simple corset and a stunning diamond choker?  Yes please!
June Ambrose Met Gala
And last, but certainly never least, is June Ambrose.  She attended a Yahoo Style Met Gala after party, and of course, she looked the part.  A Tom Ford look with embroidered appliques and a simple obi belt was a great choice.  Modern, yet timeless.  And the bang…I’m feeling it.

Looks like fun times!  Who else is going to somehow, someway find a means of getting there next year?
