Bella Hadid looked every bit the supermodel at the 69th Annual Cannes
Film Festival Opening Night Gala in a showstopping embellished gown
from Roberto Cavalli by Peter Dundas. To let the piece play centerstage,
she went for an understated face, which let her natural beauty shine
through. Patrick Ta did her makeup for the night—a bit of contouring,
amazing skin, nude lips, and soft smoky eyes were on the menu. Here are
the steps:
1. Patrick prepped Bella’s skin with a layer of Charlotte Tilbury’s Magic Cream ($101) to give her complexion a luminous glow, as well as to create a smooth, flawless base.
2. Next, he lightly applied
Light Wonder Foundation ($46) to ensure Bella’s complexion looked clean and bright. He concealed any imperfections with
The Retoucher ($36).
3. Patrick lightly contoured Bella’s cheekbones using Filmstar Bronze and Glow ($71)—a favorite for many of Charlotte Tilbury’s clients. Of the product, Patrick said,
“This photographs amazingly and Bella loves a softly contoured look.”
4. Patrick finished the glow with
Cheek to Chic Blusher in First Love ($43) on the apples of Bella’s cheeks and followed with a light dusting of
Airbrush Flawless Finish ($45) to ensure long wear.
5. Bella wanted her eyes to look just as clean and bright as her complexion. To achieve that, Patrick used The Luxury Palette in The Sophisticate ($52) layered with
The Luxury Palette in The Dolce Vita
($52). Next, using the rich chocolate brown shade from The Luxury
Palette in Dolce Vita, Patrick used an angled brush to draw a thin wing
starting half way on the eyelid and smudged outwards for a smoky eye
effect.
6. Patrick curled Bella’s lashes using
Life Changing Lashes ($26) and applied two coats of
Charlotte’s Legendary Lashes Mascara ($32).
7. To complete the look, Patrick applied K.I.S.S.I.N.G Lipstick in Penelope Pink ($33).
