From the Met Gala to the Streets: 3 Tech Trends to Stock Your Closet With

ESC: Met Gala Trends
What's it called when you take some of the greatest designers and trendsetters in the world and shove them into one room? The Met Gala.
This year's theme, "Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology," allowed for so many great trends to surface and resurface (emphasis on the part about them resurfacing). Who could have guessed one-shouldered garments would make such a comeback? That sequins would outnumber metallic fabrics? Or that unexpected floral touches would rule the multicolored carpet?
These tech-inspired trends are back to rule your summer wardrobe, so let's get to it.

It was evident sequins ruled the red carpet, but what made the trend exciting was the textile they were paired with. Turns out metal looks great with a little glitter! All-over shine, like the looks Jourdan Dunn, Poppy Delevingne and Rachel McAdams wore, might be a tad too much for the sidewalk. Look to accessories and small statement pieces when it comes to your own closet.

Spring has sprung again in the form of appliqué, embroidery and sequins. Karolina Kurkova, Blake Lively and Naomi Wattsshowcased some unexpected florals you're going to want to stock your closet with.

Pair your florals with basics so you're not overpowering the one thing you want everyone to look at.

When it comes to one-shoulder tops, there's so much variety. Rock a crop top version with high-waisted trousers, a form-fitting long sleeve with boyfriend jeans or a chic dress on date night.
