The two had taken a Great Western Railway (GWR) train, which was delayed for an hour. Harry and Meghan were greeted at the castle by scores of fans. They shook hands with many of them and also crouched down by the barriers to speak to children.
"They were so cute honestly," an eyewitness told E! News. "They apologized for the delay of their arrival, and they asked if we were cold. Meghan hugged my sister and said that we were all so sweet."
Meghan wore a black $1,873 Stella McCartney tie detail coat, black $242 Hiut Denim Dina jeans and black Tabitha Simmons Kiki boots, and carried a $520 forest grain Mini Venice purse by Demellier London. She also wore her hair in a messy bun again, forsaking royal protocol. Breaking tradition even further, Meghanwore mismatched earrings—a Zofia Day arrow-shaped diamond stud earring and on the other ear, three joined gold stars.
Harry wore a long navy coat over a lighter blue sweater and white collar and navy pants.
"I am so happy that we are here today," Meghan said inside Cardiff Castle's Arab room, according to reports. "It is a beautiful space."
The two are in town for a day "showcasing the rich culture and heritage of Wales." They are set to tour a Welsh culture festival later in the day.
"You are only going to hear the best singing in Wales," Harry told Meghan, according to reports. "At the Principality Stadium, we have the best singing. People are in tune, which you can't say for most football stadiums."
