3 Sophisticated Summer Cocktails Served Up In Bulk

Summer seems to conjure up endlessly beautiful, lazy days and, consequently, infinite opportunities for impromptu day drinking. We’re living in the heyday of mixology, where most bar menus drip with exotic ingredients like lavender essence and fennel juice extract. Yet when it comes to our own at-home mixing procedures, many of us are still concocting some old-school jungle juice recipes, crossing our fingers, and hoping for the best. Set your barrels of Bacardi aside, it’s time for a sophisticated cocktail makeover.
We called upon master mixologist Eric Tecosky, bar manager at the legendary Jones Hollywood, and asked if he’d upgrade our mixing skills. He crafted up some big batch versions of high-end cocktails, so we’re not only going to get our buzz on in style, but in bulk as well. Grab a pitcher, a group of friends, and get ready to mix once and drink all day.

1. THE DIRTY MARY
Tecosky shares some dirty thoughts about this old school daytime classic: “Nothing is worse than a bad Bloody Mary, and nothing is better than a delicious one. This is the perfect brunch cocktail and the Dirty Sue Olive Juice is the secret flavor weapon that’ll make your guests ask for seconds.”
BIGBATCH11
Ingredients:
6 oz. Dirty Sue premium olive juice
3 oz. Worcestershire Sauce
1 oz. Tabasco sauce
1 oz. horseradish
3 flat teaspoons pepper
3 flat teaspoons season salt
3 flat teaspoons celery salt
60 oz. high quality tomato juice (Sacramento)
Directions:
Combine all ingredients in a pitcher and stir well. Add 1 1/2 oz. of Tito’s or Beluga Vodka to a tall glass. Add ice. Fill with Dirty Mary mix. Garnish with a Dirty Sue Feta Stuffed Pepperoncini and a Dirty Sue Jalapeño Stuffed Onion. Add a stalk of celery for a classic finish and some bacon because… it’s bacon.
2. COOL AS A CUCUMBER
Ditch the store-bought margarita mix and be cool as a cucumber with this homemade wonder: “It’s the perfect way to serve your guests a great margarita without all the fuss and muss. The best part is it will look like you actually put in a ton of fuss and muss!”
BIGBATCH3
Ingredients:
32 oz. of El Jimador Blanco Tequila
10 oz. Cointreau or another orange liqueur or triple sec
21 oz. fresh lime juice
21 oz. agave syrup*
1/2 cucumber sliced
1/2 Serrano peppers sliced and de-seeded
*For a lower calorie agave syrup, mix equal parts agave and warm water. Shake or stir until mixed and blended.
Directions:
Combine all ingredients in a 1 gallon beverage dispenser with a pouring spout. Stir a few times and keep cool until serving. Fill a glass with ice and pour cocktail over ice. Garnish with a slice of cucumber.
3. OLD 7 SEAS
The quintessential summer sipper:  “Part sweet, part spicy, and all yummy. Even your friends who say they don’t like whiskey will love this drink.”
BIGBATCH2
Ingredients:
30 oz. Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey
20 oz. pineapple syrup*
10 oz. fresh orange juice
10 oz. fresh lime juice
*To make pineapple syrup, combine 2 parts pineapple juice to 1 part sugar. Whisk until sugar is dissolved.
Directions:
Combine all ingredients in a pitcher and stir well. Fill a spicy salt-rimmed** glass with ice. Pour cocktail over ice and garnish with a pineapple wedge.
**To make spicy salt, use equal parts coarse kosher salt and cayenne pepper.
Cheers to summer!
