Lanvin Fall 2016 Ready-to-Wear

Amongst a slew of style-stars that sat front row, Lanvin presented a collection that was ethereal and mixed with metallics and color, although none too bright for the eye transitioning into Fall.

Throughout the collection, prints mixed as jacquard jackets married embroidered tops and textured bottoms. Hues of golds, yellows, greens and blues sailed down the runway, marked with black for added class and soft, subtle shading for ease.

Almost floor-length hemlines hit the runway as lace dresses and intense outwear made their appearance; in general, nothing seemed too heavy to the eye or crazily out of place, rather a much more calm and collected version of seasons past (probably due to the accounted for absence of Creative Director, Alber Elbaz).

Dresses did not hug the body too tight nor fall too lose; random shades of metallics livened up the collection, whether in dresses, separate attire or in large fur coats of burnt oranges and neutrals.
Still with all of its subtlety, the collection was one of timeless pieces and perhaps a new mark on the aesthetic and branding that Lanvin is heading in. But with time.
