If you stay up to date with the latest models, DJs, or even just binge-watch Orange Is The New Black, then by now you’ll definitely have heard of the beauty that is Ruby Rose.
So why is Ruby Rose our Beauty Crush Wednesday (you may secretly be asking yourself)? Well, aside from the fact the woman is just GORGEOUS on the outside, she also stands for huge ideas on what a woman is or can be.
That
simple idea of pushing the boundaries, in my opinion, is something
beautiful and something we definitely explore and support on FBD.
In
multiple interviews where she’s discussed her beauty aesthetic (she was
just recently named the newest face of Urban Decay), Rose has long been
vocal about the rigidity of the gender binary and gender roles. The
lasting impression with what she pushes for all people to do? “Only you know who you were born to be, and you need to be free to be that person,” she told Elle magazine.
At
the end of the day, Rose’s self-love testament and urging of others to
accept who they are empowers people to define their own identities,
their own truths, and love themselves for who they are. It also embraces
and pushes this idea of womanhood, which we celebrate every day but
especially in the month of March. What can be more beautiful than that?
