Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop: Is Your Fave Fit Chick Serena Williams Becoming A Doctor?

Featured imageWhen you’ve already won a Golden Slam and covered Vogue, there aren’t a lot of mountains left to climb. However, Serena Williams has found a new passion to pursue and it’s all about the human body.
“Well, I’ve always been known as someone who does a lot of things. I have a passion for dancing, passion for…everything. I’m studying pre-med right now,” she revealed to The Huffington Post. “I’m a little bit overwhelmed, I had a midterm last night. That was a big challenge for me, and something different that normally I wouldn’t necessarily do.”
Williams has already written a book, designed clothes and even taken nail technician classes. This time around, the tennis pro was looking for something a bit more ambitious to do in her downtime. Given how well acquainted she’s gotten to know the mechanics of the body, she wanted to dig a little deeper into that subject. The fact that it was so outside of her norm made Williams even more eager to crack open the books.
“I just wanted to do something different and I wanted to challenge myself. Being in tennis, I learned so much about my body and injuries, so for me it’s such an easy switch. I’m just figuring it out and learning about myself and about my body,” said Williams.
It’s going to be years before Williams even thinks about retiring, but could she be considering a career in medicine wants she hangs up her racquet? Maybe. Williams is not sure about settling on that idea just yet, but she’s not ruling it out either. She admitted, “I probably would. I kind of have to see, I’m not really sure yet. I probably would.”
