Facebook Is Bringing Back the Away Message so Brace For All the Emo Song Lyrics

Well this could be really good or really bad—the away message is coming back to haunt us.
That's right, the bastion of late 90s and early 2000s angst has risen from its emo grave. It's not going to be quite the same, though. For starters the away message is now going to live on Facebook's mobile app.
According to The Verge, the company is calling the new feature a "sidebar status," and it's currently being tested in Taiwan and Australia. Users can leave short messages for their Facebook friends to see in the mobile chat section, and they can even add a picture.

The one major difference between the Facebook away message and the AIM version is that in this day and age there really is no "away." After all, this is a message that gets posted only on your phone.
But there's still plenty of opportunity to bring in some good ol' middle school nostalgia here. Just think of all the emo songs that have been written since the last time you posted the lyrics to Coldplay! Crafting an away message is an art form in and of itself, and no millennial should be robbed the opportunity to create their own masterpiece.
It's still a matter of time before the feature hits stateside, but that just means there's truly no excuse not to have the perfect away message armed and ready for launch.
