Fashion Scoop: HypeBeast Releases Prices for Kanye West’s Yeezy Season 2 Collection: Get Ready for $200 Tank Tops and $400 Hoodies

HypeBeast has the scoop on prices for items in Kanye’s Yeezy Season 2 Collection. As predicted, they are ridiculous.

Regarding the men’s collection, they write, “According to a pricing sheet from an unknown source, the consumer costs are more than your average fair share of domestic streetwear brands, with some T-shirts starting at approximately $230 USD and boots at approximately $620 USD. The most expensive piece of clothing in the season appears to be a Bonded Fire Jacket at around $940 USD, while the least expensive is a light cotton jersey tank top for approximately $165 USD.”

For women, expect $400 hoodies, $900 boots, and $700 trench coats. The women’s line even has a Raglan Mesh tee for $1,240.

We now ‘get’ why luxury is so expensive–it looks like Kanye aims to been in a similar price range as Stella McCartney for Adidas. But with Stella x Adidas, you can see what you’re paying for. Yeezy Seaons 2 is pretty basic–so what’s up with the $1,000 mesh tee?

Yes, some of the price inflation could be due to his celebrity. But, perhaps the clothing has superior quality. Maybe the cargo jackets are lined in velvet, and sewn with golden thread.

Regardless of price, I’m sure we’ll be seeing the Kardashian/Jenners marching around in the wares before we know it.
