As we take a look back at Paris Fashion Week, it’s safe to say that the City of Lights has lived up to its romantic reputation yet again. Karl Lagerfeld took us on a first-class Chanel-style voyage in a mock airport runway show, leaving us flying high from powdered blue two-piece suit possibilities. Moncler Gamme Rouge returned us to the natural elements as models frolicked in ethereal floral frocks across rolling green meadows, while Tom Ford forged an entirely innovative runway medium, casting Lady Gaga as the star of his bold new short film for his spring/summer debut. These past few weeks have left us with a whirlwind of trends to treasure. Here are our favorite five, straight from the runways of Paris:

1) RUFFLED ROMANCE
Balenciaga, Balmain, and Alexander McQueen rolled out the ruffles
this week.Used as trim for lace or sculpted into towering tiered
dresses, spring 2016 promises to be a true romance with ruffles.
2 ) LADYLIKE LUXE
Lovely ladylike silhouettes sauntered down the runway, suggesting
we’ll be flirting with our full feminine form this spring. From mod to Madmen,
mixed ensembles of cinched waists, pastel power suits, and peplum
pencil skirts expressed themselves unanimously amongst the Dior, Chanel,
and Celine collections.
3) TEXTURE TO THE TENTHParis debuted an explosion of what’s possible when it comes to the world of textiles: If it’s embroidered, cut-out, woven, beaded, fringed, or even shattered (mirrored glass)… it’s in! Valentino favored the tribal-inspired textiles, focused on heavy weaving and beading, while Balmain brought modern geometric cut-outs and high-fringed collars to the forefront.

4) PATRIOTIC PALETTES
Perhaps it’s a Parisian-inspired color scheme too, but designers
imbued a variety of silhouettes with hues of good old American red,
white, and blue. From patterned Chanel suits, to Kenzo color blocked
coordinates, and Mulger’s Navy-inspired jumpsuit, classic Americana is
officially on-trend.
