A Tribute To Hubert de Givenchy

teewhy-hive.blogspot.co.uk
The original designer of famed French fashion house Givenchy, Hubert de Givenchy, passed away on Saturday at the age of 91. The legendary designer gained fame in the 1950s when he launched his eponymous label and first worked with Audrey Hepburn, who would become Givenchy’s main muse.

From Audrey to Jackie Kennedy to Elizabeth Taylor, Givenchy was the go-to haute couturier for Hollywood’s elite.
In 1995, when Givenchy himself ceased designing, a crop of other talented designers emerged from the fashion house: John Galliano, Alexander McQueen, Julien Macdonald, Riccardo Tisci, and, most recently, Claire Waight Keller.
The house of Givenchy has continued to be a a force in the fashion industry, with its designs draped on A-listers like Beyonce and Rihanna. Givenchy’s legacy lives on with the brand’s masterful craftsmanship of elegance and femininity.
Here are some of my favorite Givenchy designs, on celebrities past and present.
