Essence Magazine’s 7th Annual Black Women In Hollywood Luncheon, Sponsored by Lincoln Motor Company.
The stars truly came out in considerable numbers for Essence Magazine’s 7th Annual Women In Hollywood Luncheon! It’s a seminal time in Hollywood, with black women truly shining in front of and behind the camera.
The luncheon is to celebrate excellence and cement sisterhood.
See who came out and what they wore: Angela Bassett was a vision in a Byron Lars floral lace embroidered dress. A burgundy lip and nude pumps finished her look.
Chaka Khan is a bag designer! She let her green furry tote add a pop of color to her all black ensemble.
Kerry Washington cradled her baby bump in a cobalt blue Calvin Klein one shouldered creation. Blue is definitely her color!
Crop tops were popping at the event, but none moreso that Lupita Nyong’o's! The gorgeous actress looked divine in a Spring 2014 abbreviated top and pencil skirt from Giambattista Valli‘s Spring 2014 collection, punctuated by Sophia Webster shoes and an Elie Saab clutch.
White was certainly the selection for silver screen starlets! Naomie Harris was ever so slightly seductive in a Wes Gordon lace paneled frock.
Brandy slayed in a fierce red Elena Reva suit. The cut of both her hair and the outfit are killer. Well done!
Garcelle Beauvais bet on an orange Tibi dress and multicolored Steve Madden sandals.
Carmen Lilly is working her magic on Rocsi! I really loved Ms. Diaz’s Mary Katrantzou dress and Christian Louboutin studded pumps.
Tamera Mowry-Housley offset her Victoria Beckham sheath with Christian Louboutin platform sandals.
Rochelle Aytes kept it saucy in a Herve Leger scalloped bandage dress in deep sea coral.
Tika Sumpter let a little leg show in a blue and green dress from Bibhu Mohapatra’s Resort 2014 collection.
Alfre Woodard kept it comfortable yet sassy in flats and a patchwork frock.
How stunning is Danai Gurira? I loved the red tone of her Reem Acra number.
Holly Robinson Peete skewed simple in a blue and white sheath and platform peep toes.
Joy Bryant sizzled in a silver mini dress, leather jacket, and smart cap toe flats.
Sharon Leal beamed in a blouse, belt, and skirt by Philthy Ragz, topped off by Charlotte Olympia pumps.
Tatyana Ali tried the crop top trend on for size in an ensemble from a local LA boutique.
And inside, Oprah snapped a picture with Sidney Poitier and Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences President Cheryl Boone.
There is much, much more to come!
Until then, who do you think was best dressed at this year’s Essence Black Women in Hollywood Luncheon?
