Fabulousity: Times Beyonce Slayed the Scene
Queen Bey has yet to disappoint us: and I doubt she ever will. Beyonce, Beyonce Knowles, or Mrs. Carter, if you feel so inclined, has been pretty quiet this year in regards to releasing any new music, yet she has been showcasing herself in fashionable outfits both in and out of events.
Born and raised in Houston, TX, Beyonce rose to fame in the 90s as the lead singer for the R&B girl-group (and still one of our favorites) Destiny’s Child. After becoming one of the world’s best-selling girl groups of all time, Destiny’s Child disbanded so all the artists could seek individual pursuits. A young Beyonce would eventually bless the world with Dangerously In Love, followed by B’Day, I Am…Sasha Fierce, 4, and Beyonce.
What perhaps drive the Beyhive (as her fans are so infamously known for) crazy is not just Beyonce’s musical work, but her enviable Powerhouse aesthetic of being on top while still having a family while also being a national and global activist. She has started various charitable organizations to help different disparaged communities, opened her own fashion line and built partnerships with brands (hello, Topshop!), become the woman we all think of when we see a Pepsi commercial (or think of what a half-time Superbowl performance should look like), and has constantly slew the competition with her amazing vocal range and diverse creativity in dance, singing and her most recent venture, acting.
The woman who pulled the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards viewership to 12.4 million for her performance of ‘Love On Top’, the ‘At Last’ singer at the first inaugural dance for President Obama, and pusher of modern day ‘feminism’, Beyonce has definitely been named the most influential and timely musician of the 21st century.
The mother of Blue Ivy and part of #Powerhousecouple with Jay-Z, Beyonce does no wrong for us when it comes to music, her artistry or even her outfits. As 2015 wraps up, let’s check out 25 times this year Beyonce gave us something to scream about.
