Although we never need another reason to love Sephora, here’s one more that may make your heart happy.
This year, the beauty retailer is heading up a new program entitled Sephora Accelerate,
which will provide a bootcamp like experience to 10 early-stage
start-ups at its San Francisco headquarters. The bootcamp aims to
provide mentorship and provide a platform for them to display their hard
work in August. With applications accepted until Dec.31st, the class of participants will be chosen sometime around March.
“SEPHORA is uniquely positioned to support and inspire women as
they achieve their goals, and from the beginning, it’s been among the
top requests from both our clients and our employees,” said Calvin McDonald, President and CEO of SEPHORA AMERICAS.
Those chosen to be part of Sephora Accelerate must also include an element in their company that will help their community as well as have a female founder. So pretty much, Sephora is holding everyone responsible to extending the same love to others that they’re giving to them. Amazing!
On top of building relationships with industry experts, partnering
and fostering mentorships with leading figures in their respective field
and having all-expenses paid trips to the program’s events, the 10
chosen will receive a sum of $2,500 to help them continue their goals
and initiatives.
This isn’t the first time Sephora’s given back to the community; in fact, Sephora
actually has an extensive social impact agenda which includes things
such as beauty classes for women reentering the workforce or living in
transitional housing (they’ll also be helping those living in shelters
come April), and employee support for those affected by natural
disasters or major life events.
We love when huge powerhouses like Sephora use beauty for a social cause! What do you guys think of Sephora’s new initiative?
