Vintage: Diahann Carroll.
Let’s jump straight into today’s fashionable highlight – the devastatingly gorgeous Miss Diahann Carroll!
Diahann Carroll was born Carol Diahann Johnson on July 17, 1935 in Bronx, New York. As a child, the young girl’s family then moved to Harlem where she was raised for a majority of her childhood. Destined for greatness at an early age, Carroll faithfully attended modeling, acting, dancing and singing classes as she slowly started to cultivate an undeniable talent. By the age of 18, she scored a commendable supporting role in the 1954 rendition of Carmen Jones. In addition, she also starred in the Broadway hit House of Flowers and the film Porgy and Bess. One of Carroll’s most memorable roles included her role as Dominique Deveraux on the 80’s nighttime soap opera smash known as Dynasty.
Diahann Carroll’s style can be summarized in one word: classic. This jaw-dropping woman was grace personified and she never failed to inspire. From her elegant furs to her structured blazers, she could made anything look chic. Capes, sequins and monochrome looks were her absolute favorites!
