Seasonal Style

teewhy-hive.blogspot.co.uk
It’s here. The season between summer and fall when temperatures are unpredictable but your desire to stay warm and cute is not. Before you can say pumpkin spice anything, you’re going to need a coat. The biggest trends? Trench with a twist, oversized blazer bravado, colorful leather moto, cropped denim, and athleisure inspired bomber. Transitions like these can be seemless. Or cropped. Or oversized…it’s up to you.
But get on it, because shivering is silly with options like these.

Trench
The trench coat: it’s basic without being basic. Iconic. And best of all, it’s easy outerwear to pack for your weekend getaway. You may not be a French undercover agent, but boy can you dress like one. This season, make the classic feel fresh with a dark twill or metallic.
TRY:
Oversized Blazer
Think boxy, babe. Even out the proportion by wearing with shorts while it’s still warm and skinny jeans when it’s legit fall. Wear your favorite rock band t shirt underneath to amp up contrast. Don’t be afraid of volume, these jackets do harken back eighties ladies. Working Girl is right. Just swap the white pantyhose and Reebok high tops for a flat with lace-up details or a modern ankle boot.

Moto
Tough girl-chic is always in style. This fall, it’s more versatile than ever. Grab a moto jacket in an original color to avoid the chill and look hot. Hardware, yes. Fitted, always. Born to be bad, or if you’re wearing one in yellow, born to be adorable.

Cropped Denim
A twist on the usual topper, try one with no hem, frayed and raw over a maxi for crisp evenings. For daytime, add to a tunic and cropped pants to create two layers of visual fun. Or add to a tank and belted midi skirt to highlight your shape. Casual weekend? Pair with high-waisted black jeans for double denim with twice the style.

Bomber Jacket
This military-inspired trend for fall has something for everyone, especially when it comes to the bomber. Fabrics range from brocade to satin; all of them, light enough for summer but great for fall layering. Wear a crop or a chunky knit underneath depending on the forecast. Bombers with sporty stripes add a tomboy cool effect. Layer over leggings post-workout and you’ve got your athleisure ready for everywhere.
