Missy Elliott is asking for “prayers and healing” on behalf of her longtime collaborator Tweet, who is reportedly suffering from health complications.
Taking to Twitter, Missy revealed that the “Oops (Oh My)” singer has blood clots in both lungs. “Sending prayers up for my sis @MS_HUMMINGBIRD who has blood clots in both lungs,” wrote Missy. “We are asking for your prayers for healing…Amen
.”Famed pastor Jamal H. Bryant also asked for prayers on Instagram. “ALERT,” he wrote. “I need your prayers for @tweet_ She’s been admitted in hospital for blood clots in both lungs & right arm! Doctors can’t trace it but God is a healer! Prayer still works…”
It is unclear when Tweet’s health deteriorated. Over the weekend, she was active on Instagram, where she offered prayers for those suffering in Houston due to Hurricane Harvey. Just one day ago, she also posted a video about political current events, urging followers to “PAY ATTENTION.”
Tweet broke into the scene with 2002’s Southern Hummingbird, which featured hits like “Oops (Oh My)” and “Call Me.” Her latest album, Charlene, arrived last year and spawned the singles “Won’t Hurt Me,” “Magic,” and “Neva Shouda Left Ya.”
Last year, Tweet also worked extensively on Solange’s critically-acclaimed album A Seat at the Table, earning additional vocals credits on “Weary,” “Mad,” and “F.U.B.U.”
