7 Trending Skincare Treatments

teewhy-hive.blogspot.co.uk
Gone are the days when Botox or fillers were the most advanced ways to get gorgeous skin. Now, there are a slew of incredible (and incredibly effective) treatments to create the skin of your dreams. You know: the type of skin that’s so glowy and taut, you don’t need makeup (and do need an ID).

“To make you look vibrant and young forever, it’s all about making your skin healthy first,” explains Dr. Nancy Samolitis, owner of LA-beauty-girl fave Facile Dermatology and Boutique in West Hollywood. “At the end of the day, it’s all about healthy skin.”
While the following skincare treatments might sound bizarre, they work, and they’re in high demand. Here, take a look at seven of the buzziest skincare treatments today.
Microblading

A form of non-permanent eyebrow tattooing, Microblading turns skinny pencil-sticks into Brooke Shields-worthy beauties. The Microblade artist hand-applies hair-like strokes around your brows, resulting in both full and natural-looking brows. Results can last for up to three years.
Non-Surgical Nose Job

While it might sound too good to be true, a surgery-free nose job does exist. The practitioner injects filler onto the bridge of the nose, smoothing bumps and evening the profile. The procedure only takes 15-minutes, and lasts a year or two (depending on which filler is used), although patients who love results can spring for permanent filler.
Microneedling

For the needle-phobic, Microneedling might sound like hell. However, the treatment — which stimulates the wound healing response through tiny punctures — is beloved: it reduces scars and increases collagen production. The result: plumper, younger-looking skin. “Microneedling has been around forever, but the newest devices are automated and make it fast to treat the whole face fairly quickly,” says Dr. Samolitis. At-home options include the Stacked Skincare Micro Roller ($30), or the Environ Cosmetic Roll CIT ($135).
Cool Sculpting

CoolSculpting freezes fat cells through targeted precision cooling, causing your body to process and expel the fat. “Cool Sculpting is completely non-invasive and is effective for 90% of people,” says Dr. Samolitis. Popular areas include stomach, thighs, butt, and arms. Up to three treatments are needed, and results are long lasting but not permanent. “Of all non-invasive fat reduction techniques, it’s the best.”
Dermaplaning

A method of extreme exfoliation, Dermaplaning uses a surgical-grade scalpel to remove upper layer of dead skin. (It’s basically extreme face shaving.) Benefits include better makeup penetration, less peach fuzz, and dramatically-softer skin. It’s great for pregnant women who might want a treatment without chemicals, but isn’t for those with cystic or pustular acne. Opt for an at-home device like Tweezerman Bright Complexion Facial Dermaplaner ($30) or Dermaflash Hot Pink Facial Exfoliating Device ($189).
Vampire Facial

Popularized by celebrities like Kim Kardashian, the Vampire Facial is a painless treatment combining Platelet Rich Plasma therapy with Microdermabrasion or Microneedling. Doctors remove a small vial of the patient’s blood, spin the blood to remove platelets, extract plasma, and then spread it across the newly exfoliated face. “PRP is a fantastic way to help your body make its own collagen,” says Dr. Samolitis. Expect a reduction of acne scars, reduced fine lines, and plumper skin.
Kybella

The only FDA-approved treatment for chin fat, Kybella injects synthetic stomach acid to dissolve cells. “Kybella is great for small areas like armpit bikini-fat pudge, and for touching-up irregular bulges post-lipo or Cool Sculping,” says Dr. Samolitis, explaining that Kybella often takes multiple sessions and may result in mild pain and swelling. “You need to be committed to the process to see good results. I usually tell people to expect three sessions.”
