Rihanna Stuns on Vogue Paris Covers
Rihanna’s global fashion takeover continues. After becoming Egyptian queen Nefertiti for Vogue Arabia, the Barbados beauty stuns on three separate Vogue Paris covers.
The collectors’ covers were shot by Jean-Paul Goude, Juergen Teller and Inez & Vinoodh to celebrate Bad Gal as “a modern-day icon” for the magazine’s December 2017/January 2018 Christmas issue.
“She’s one of the most emblematic artists of the early 21st century. She’s moved more than 200 million records of her hybrid R&B, dance, rock and reggae-flavored music, provided sartorial surprises from glammed-up streetwear to reworked classics and is driven by an unparalleled desire to succeed,” wrote the magazine’s editor-in-chief, Emmanuelle Alt. “Stamped with her trademark bold body art, Rihanna cuts an unusual figure in the celebrity Hall of Fame.”
Goude captured RiRi in red lipstick, wearing a black fishnet veil. Her neck is cut into an artistic collage. The tagline reads: “With Love!” Inez and Vinoodh delivered a black-and-white cover of Bad Gal in Dior with the tagline: “Classé Confidentiel.” Teller’s image finds Rihanna in yellow fur with the tagline “Version Originale.”
Outside of posing for three covers, Rihanna was also the magazine’s guest editor, selecting some of the issue’s contributors, according to Fashionista.
It has been a big year for Rihanna, who’s continued her musical reign while also exploring the acting, fashion, and cosmetic worlds. She’s covered numerous magazines this year, including PAPER, Elle, and Harper’s Bazaar.
Rihanna’s Vogue Paris issue hits newsstands Dec. 1.
