Adele, Oscars 2013
It's been announced that the Grammy- and Oscar-winning songstress will be heading to Buckingham Palace on Thursday, Dec. 19, to be honored for her services to the music industry.
The 25-year-old artist will be given the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (MBE) title along with a medal.
PJ Harvey, broadcaster Aled Jones and author Joan Harris will also receive the title.
According to NBC News, the awards are presented by Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Charles or another member of the royal family. However, the specific person doing the presenting won't be revealed until the morning of the actual ceremony.

Of course, it doesn't come as a complete surprise that Adele will be honored in such a fashion.
After all, it's been revealed that her 21 album has just been named Amazon's best-selling album...of all time!
The 2011 release, featuring such hits as "Rolling in the Deep" and "Someone Like You," has sold more than 28 million copies around the globe.
