Gucci Pre-Fall 2014.

Frida Giannini renounces the glitz that Gucci has clung onto so tightly for something altogether more structured and menswear-inspired for Pre-fall 2014 collection. Chock full of eye-catching hues and tailored silhouettes, the brand focuses on functional, everyday designs, instead of its go-to evening wear.The collection commences with colorblocking and a nod to masculine shapes with a black leather blouse layered under a burgundy sweater and pink structured coat. The look is anchored with rust-colored seamed, ankle-length trousers and the brand’s iconic horsebit loafer in a matching shade. The layered ensembles continue with furry toppers, even shaggier jackets, and leather biker pieces, all given more of a menswear vibe with black deerskin caps. Prints give the ensembles added pops with zoomed-in feral patterns and painterly stripes, splattered on collarless jackets, silky blouses, a frock with a plunging v, cozy turtleneck sweaters, and warm angora coats.
