Chloé Pre-Fall 2014.
The past is often a source of inspiration for designers: especially one with such a rich history as Chloé’s. Clare Waight Keller pulls inspiration from the blanket coats of the French fashion house’s 60′s collections, spinning the classic designs into modern-day masterpieces. Outerwear is a strong focus, aiming to keep the Chloé woman warm from the first chill of Fall all the way through Winter. Shearling and wool dominate the lineup, running the gamut of the color spectrum including baby blue, vermilion, camel, and the classic shades of black and white.
Check out more of the collection below:
The brand has a knack for creating “It” accessories and I suspect the collection’s thigh-high leather boots with stacked wooden heels will be high atop the must-have list of every stylish woman across the globe. The shoes are particularly strong visually when juxtaposed against black and white tile print, leg-baring leather designs, and animal-print ruffle skirts.
Pussybows are a signature of the French fashion house and they hang languidly from white silk blouses, ruffled flirty frocks, and animal print numbers.
Though a number of the collection’s looks make grand statements, there is also a focus on lighter, more pared-down ensembles. Two-tone angora sweaters in white and cream, sharp blazers, waterfall hems, airy maxi skirts, buckled flat sandals: Waight Keller wants us to build our wardrobes with Chloé pieces and the aforementioned create a great case for that.
Stylish ladies including Zendaya Coleman, Olivia Palermo, and Zoe Saldana sported the brand in 2013 and though there aren’t a slew of red carpet-ready gowns here, there are some dresses that will surely make an impact for award season fêtes and Fashion Week front rows. A spotted ruffle hem frock will look killer with a sleek chignon and red patent pumps, while a beaded shift will shimmer and sparkle just right for the cameras.
