Diane Von Furstenberg is one of the designers ditching Lincoln Center this upcoming Fashion Week for greener, less congested pastures to show her Fall 2014 collection. But her reasons for leaving aren’t what we initially thought. Turns out the designer isn’t moving her show because of the hub’s notoriously overstimulating atmosphere: “My decision is purely because of the anniversary year,” she told The New York Times. “I want to do something special. I’m excited that they’re trying to get it together at Lincoln Center.” It is the 40th anniversary of DVF’s iconic wrap dress, so a little celebration seems right. But dont worry–Von Furstenberg may be back at the tents next season. “I am the president of the CFDA, but I also have a brand to watch,” she said. (NYT)
