Jay Z & Barneys Net Over $1 Million From Controversial Holiday Collection.

Yahoo! Wireless Festival - Day 2
Despite all of the controversy, Jay Z and Barneys made big bucks together with their holiday collection.
According to NY Daily News, the luxury clothing and accessory line earned more than $1 million in profits, which means The Shawn Carter Foundation is winning!

Jay Z fans stared a petition in November asking the hip hop mogul to pull out of the Barneys deal due to two racial profiling lawsuits filed against the department store. However, Beyonce’s hubby decided to move forward with the partnership and responded to the criticism in a statement.
“I am in a unique position to use my voice to affect change to this disturbing issue,” he wrote. “The easy position would have been to walk away and leave policy making to others hoping that someone addresses the problem. … I will take this into my own hands with full power to recommend, review and revise policies and guidelines moving forward. I am choosing to take this head on.”

“This money is going to help individuals facing socio-economic hardships to help further their education at institutions of higher learning,” he added, reassuring fans that 100 percent of the collection’s proceeds will go to his foundation.
Do you think Jay made the right decision. Weigh in with your thoughts below.
