• Popular British high street brand Primark is coming to America. The retailer announced plans to open its first US flagship in Boston’s Downtown Crossing district, in the Burnham Building. It will open doors in late 2015, with plans to expand its reach to more locations in the northeast through mid-2016. While I’m quite pleased to hear Primark is actually coming to America, it’s a little surprising that they chose to open up shop in Boston first. New York City tends to be the “it” landing for European brands looking to delve into the American Market. There are just more people, tourists, and, it also happens to be the unofficial fashion capital of the world. At the very least, this news is exciting for Boston fashionistas with a taste for British sartorial penchants. (WWD)
