Trina Turk Fall 2015.

Though we associate Trina Turk’s prints and silhouettes with Los Angeles and Palm Springs, the designer is a San Francisco-native. She channeled her Northern California hometown in her Fall 2015 collection, marking her 20th year in business — no small feat for any designer.

Her signature, colorful prints were shown on office-ready shirt dresses, a painterly swing dress and cropped trousers, and Fall-ready leopard berets. Mockneck blouses, high-waist pencil skirts, collarless coats with elbow sleeves, and thigh-baring shifts injected a retro-inspired vibe into the assortment.

Jumpsuits have become a veritable wardrobe staple (for myself included), thus they’ve been selling out like hotcakes for Turk. She reworked them here for both women and men with wide legs, long sleeves, and seamed bustier-inspired bodices.

A taste of the 70’s could not be denied with a teal shaggy fur, a textured check coat with oversized lapels, a velvet three-piece suit for the gents, and thin patterned scarves elegantly tied around the models’ necks. Everything was given a modern flair with pointed-toe ankle boots, strappy mules, and geometric hardware-accented clutches.

The collection presented the modern-day woman with a slew of choices — just the exact things she needs when building the wardrobe that meets both her needs and desires. The brand will never stray away from vibrant hues and mod-inspired silhouettes, but we can guarantee that the offerings here will pull in a whole new set of customers looking to infuse functionality and fun into their closets.
