Kendrick Lamar to Perform at MTV VMAs
Kendrick Lamar isn’t just leading all MTV VMA nominees this year. He is also taking the stage as a performer.
Boasting eight nominations at this year’s show, King Kendrick is joining a performance roster that already includes The Weeknd, Fifth Harmony, Ed Sheeran, Miley Cyrus, Lorde, Shawn Mendes, and Katy Perry, who will also serve as host.
K-Dot is up for a series of Moon Persons this year, including Artist of the Year, Video of the Year, Best Cinematography, Best Direction, Best Art Direction, Best Visual Effects, and Best Choreography.
This won’t be Cornrow Kenny’s first time on the VMA stage. He also joined 2 Chainz, Miley Cyrus, and Robin Thicke on the big show back in 2013. The MTV VMAs will air live from The Forum in Inglewood, Calif. on Sunday (Aug. 27).
Last night, Kung Fu Kenny wrapped the first leg of “The DAMN. Tour” with cameos from ScHoolboy Q and Jay Rock. Janet Jackson attended the final night, while Beyoncé, Usher, Kelly Rowland, and Jermaine Dupri were among the stars in attendance for other L.A. shows.
K-Dot’s break won’t be long. While Travis Scott is leaving the tour, the Compton MC kicks off the second leg of the jaunt with YG and D.R.A.M. on Aug. 11 in Anaheim, Calif. The run will continue through Sept. 2 in Miami.
