Celebs: they’re not like us. Unlike our favorite fashionistas, we won’t be wearing head-to-toe Gucci to dinner several nights this week (sad face).
And we don’t have a glam squad on speed dial. When celebrities claim water is the secret to their youthful appearance, we eye roll. But there’s one thing we can do like the rich and famous, and that’s beauty and skincare, because even celebrities love a bargain.
I picked 10 drugstore beauty finds that celebrities can’t live without so that we can slay the beauty game like our favorite A-listers.
Albolene Moisturizing Cleanser ($10) – Marjorie Harvey, as her hubby explains it, “hit the lottery in the gene pool,” (accurate) and she takes extremely good care of her skin. Her favorite makeup remover: Albolene, it removes even the toughest of makeup and leaves skin super soft, she says.
Pixi by Petra Flawless & Poreless Primer ($22) and Glow Mist ($15) – So we snuck in 11 products, but that’s because Lori Harvey gives us #flawlessface with Target finds. She uses the Pixi Glow Mist for an “extra glow effect” (as if she needed any more #glowup).
L’Oreal Voluminous Mascara ($8) – Kelly Rowland has long praised the classic mascara as her go-to, as has Kim Kardashian: “It really lifts and separates each lash,” she says. Nearly every celeb-MUA has said that they carry a tube in their arsenal.
Aquaphor Healing Ointment ($5) – We’re calling this multi-tasking product The Holy Grail of skincare. Emily Ratajkowski uses it under her eyes for a dewy effect and Zendaya’s killer cheekbones? The result of a highlight hack: “I dab Aquaphor where I want my highlight to be. Then I put my highlighter on top, and boom!”
L’Oreal True Match Lumi Liquid Glow Illuminator ($11) – We thought the signature JLo-glow was the thing that set Jennifer Lopez apart from us mere mortals, but apparently her MUA has been sending her down the red carpet in L’Oreal liquid illuminator.
Mielle Organics Babassu & Mint Deep Conditioner ($14) – Yara Shahidi is #hairgoals, hands down. She credits the $14 Mielle Organics deep conditioner for keeping her curls hydrated, especially after too much heat styling.
Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs ($9) – The thing that makes Khloe Kardashian’s legs camera-ready. Yes, please, we’ll take two.
Revlon ColorStay Brow Pencil ($7) – Ciara’s secret to a 5-minute makeup routine: perfect brows. She’s been using the Revlon eyebrow pencil for years to give her arches a “super-natural” look.
Smith’s Rosebud Salve ($7) – Beyonce has been loyal to Smith’s Rosebud Salve since ’03 Bonnie and Clyde days. Okay, well maybe not that long, but she has been using the stuff “in the blue can” as a lash and lip primer since before Blue Ivy.
L’Oreal Infallible 2-Step Lipcolor in Neverending Nutmeg ($13) – We’ve found the perfect nude lip color, thanks to Sir John, you know the MUA responsible for Beyoncé and Chrissy Teigen’s faces. Neverending Nutmeg is universally flattering and affordable. #Goals.
