Fashion Scoop: Naomi Campbell To Host Show On Yahoo, Victoria’s Secret Announces 10 new Angels, Donatella Versace Stars In Givenchy Ad
- If you were wondering why Naomi Campbell was at the Yahoo Digital Content NewFronts this morning in that stunning shift dress,
we’ve got you covered. The icon is set to continue her on screen time
with her very own show via Yahoo Style. The details are pretty scarce
but the show will be called I Am Naomi and will feature her sitting down with “the world’s most powerful and influential people.” (The Fashion Spot)
- Big fan of Refinery29? You’re in luck: the site has just raised $50
million to put towards growth! Expect a redoubled effort on video
content as well as global expansion, featuring local sites to be
launched in Europe. This latest round of investment puts the company at
having raised a whopping $80 million over the past 10 years. (TechCrunch)
- We’ve been hearing a bit about Victoria’s Secret Angels retiring but
never fear, the company has replacements. Today, the lingerie giant
revealed a class of 10 brand new angels, the most ever introduced at
once. The 10 round out a group of five current angels. If you’re
wondering about diversity, VS counts 3 women of color in the new group,
but sadly none of Asian descent. (Refinery29)
- Know a sneaker fanatic? Or maybe you’re one yourself! Well, this
summer the Brooklyn Museum will be hosting a sneaker exhibit with styles
from Nike, Adidas, Converse, Louis Vuitton and more. Sadly for the
ladies out there, it’s predominantly men’s styles that will be one
display but maybe it’s a cool date idea? The exhibit opens July 10th. (Racked NY)
- In a surprising move, Riccardo Tisci has tapped another designer to
front this season’s Givenchy campaign. Posting the first photo to
Instagram, Tisci announced “So proud and honored to introduce my new ultimate icon: Donatella Versace… FW Givenchy Family Campaign MORE TO COME SOON!”
with his typical deluge of names and hashtags at the end. Versace, in
kind, posted a photo of their own giving a personal thanks from
Donatella herself. (Glamour)
