Exclusive Seating By Majorie Harvey

Every industry with an audience has it. Box seats, VIP sections etc. In the fashion world, it’s front row seating. Reserved for a special group of elite individuals who are considered significant in driving the success of the collection. This select line up of individuals are valued deeply for their ability to help build the brand through press, sales, and perhaps, most importantly, the personal endorsement of wearing it. The implication is that those who have the least invested interest should be farthest from the catwalk and the action. This may mean sitting a bit further in the back or not being privileged to preview the upcoming collection at all. I mean, after all, fashion is a seriously lucrative and creative business, so the first look at pieces that garner billions of dollars in revenue should feel private and unshared.

As important as the fashion business is, nothing is more paramont then the business of our lives and  sitting “front row” in the life of another person. We all have friends, loved ones and family members in whose lives our presence, opinions, and influence, plays a critical part in their success, growth, and overall prosperity. As with the fashion industry, in everyday life we must deliberate long and hard over who we give that limited seating to. It is not to be frivolously given away to spectators of a pedestrian sort who are just passing through with little concern for our ultimate successful outcome. This is especially true when launching or unveiling something new or meaningful in our lives. The front row of our hearts, minds and personal journey need to be held only for those stakeholders who are in it to win it with us! Sometimes you can recognize those people when you first meet them, and other times it must be  illuminated after many life turns. Regardless of the initial circumstances, they prove their worth by investing in you season after season.
I’m not sure who you presently have on your restricted row. Perhaps, before the next big event in your life you may find you have to rearrange some seats. It happens. But either way, as we get deeper and deeper in to making 2016 a great year, remember the front row of your life is a treasured, coveted postion which should be occupied only by those who’ve earned it by deeply demonstrating they understand the importance of exclusive seating.
